I am considering putting a pumped shower into a flat. the problem is the cold feed to the bath is direct from mains and the hot is from the hot tank.. Cant really install a seperate cold as the floors are concrete. Is it possible just to boost the hot side with the pump and supply the mixer tap with cold directly from the mains? :?:

Yes, but install a one way valve on the hot supply. and you could also fit a pressure reducing valve to the mains supply to regulate the flow.

You could also consider using a "venturi" shower. These work by using the high pressure cold to boost the low pressure hot input. A search on the net should flag up a couple of makes.

Plumbworld do a venturi shower called h2o platinium cost about £100 with excellent performance and good looking with it.
