Well i want o install a small halogen floodlight with pir sensor at the back of the house, im currently renovating and will be installing sockets the the bedroom where the light will be loacted near,
so ive to told i can spur off a new socket i am putting and and just drill through the wall, but wasnt sure on if id need any special wiring to do this,
To add, ideally the wiring to the light unit itself should be in black rubber flex. It is more UV resistant then twin and earth, and will slide more easily into the fitting, as well as being more aesthetically pleasing.
Also, you cannot spur off a socket that is itself a spur on a ring final.
And all new wiring should be RCD protected if it is concealed less than 5cm from the surface of a wall. Thats most wiring.
