We have installed a new floor in prep to for a solid wooden floor. The base consists of 100mm insulation topped with 22mm caberdeck boards, we did have a mini disaster and needed to cover one corner with self level ling. I have read varying story's of how to install solid wood flooring. We currently have 4mm foil backed foam underlay, is this correct or do we need cork as most of the flooring we are looking at suggest. Then regarding the flooring, should this be glued down or just glue the tongues?. If glued to floor then the 4mm foam underlay currently laid will not work.
Does it mater if you just glue the tongues or does it have to be fully glued?
