Surely 5/10 litres is enough for a sink full of water? Do you need constant hot water to fill a sink? I have a 10 litre under sink heater centrally positioned in my workshop and that feeds the wc basin, a hand washing butler sink and the kitchenette sink.
I've got one of the little 3kw instant heaters in the sink in the garage. Specially in winter the flow of hot water is poor but its ok for handwashing (which is the main reason its there). Advantage of the instant type heaters is not paying to keep a tank warm- this especially in little-used areas.
