Hello,
As I’ve mentioned in a couple of other posts, I’m going about insulating the kitchen in my granite home. I plan to strip the inside of the three external walls back to bare granite, then frame, insulate, and plasterboard.
The 4th wall though, I’m not so sure of. This room is an extension, so this 4th wall is what used to be the outside wall of the house, now covered in lathe and plaster. Is it worth stripping this back and insulating in the same way?
If the lathe and plaster is in reasonable shape and the wall reasonably straight, is it any use to simply fix insulation-backed plasterboard over top of the existing lathe and plaster?
Thanks,
JB
