I want to fit a raised insulated floor in my garage. I want to use it for a workshop but still be able to park cars in it.
I'm thinking of using 100 x 50 treated timbers over a layer of DPM topped with 25mm ply. The timbers will be at 400mm centres. Will then fill in between joists with either polystyrene or celotex.
Do you think the flooring will support a car's weight.
Previously I only floated T&G chipboard over polystyrene and that lasted about 5 years and only failed when water get under the poly and into the chipboard.
