I have a 60 x 30 portal frame agricultural building with big six asbestos sheets sitting on galvanised Zed purlins. I have constructed a mezzanine floor at one end making a room 30 x 15 to use as a secure store and tea room. It gets a bit chilly in Winter, so the plan is to insulate with bats and screw fit 1/2 OSB board.
It's not going to be pretty, but functional. I was wondering how much weight the Zed purlins can take, and what's the best method of hanging the ceiling from them?
I had thought about 50 x 50 timbers at 400 mm centres plus appropriate noggins with 100mm insulating bats between, then screwing 12mm OSB board to form the ceiling. but a bit worried about the extra weight.
Any ideas would be most helpfull
