insulating a pitch roof above porch/part of bedroom

Hi, the front of my semi has a pitch roof above the foyer and part of the lower floor side bedroom (converted garage).

It gets cold and I want to insulate the hollow space. Can i just lay a layer of insulation wool or glass fibre? Can this cause a problem with creating condensation?
