I am hoping for some advice on if my idea on how to insulated my floor is ok please:

I am replacing the flooring in my kitchen / diner, which is currently lino (kitchen) and carpet (diner), with engineered wood. Total area approx 9 m2

The floor itself is a screed over an un-insulated concrete slab; the house was built in the early 1990’s

My idea is to first put a underlay with DPC, such as: http://www.screwfix.com/p/stikatak-...wood-laminate-flooring-underlay-3mm-10m/41337

Then to lay insulating boards, such as: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390324620697?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
(I won’t be putting in any under floor heating.)

The total depth of this would be fine (3mm underlay + 10mm boards + 10mm wood = 23mm), as the carpet was 23 mm deep and for the lino (kitchen) part I can remove the kickboards and cut down.

Thanks in advance
