Hi all
Have knocked the plasterboard off above the top floor window recess with the aim of filling with insulation, probably rockwool type.
These timbers I believe previously joined the old wooden window frames to the inner long timber you can see here. I expect the previous window fitters (when first lot of UPVC was fitted) simply left them in place as they are attached to the long piece of timber with nails or screws.
Can I check it is fine to now go ahead and fill what is effectively the soffit space with rockwool now? I don't think those smaller loose timbers are structural.
Thanks.
