Hi, looking for some advice so I can make an informed decision on best boards of under an engineered flooring.

Looking at Using the warmup foil heaters or a new build garden room, approx 30 square metres. Well insulated but the flooring insulation (75mm) was up below the concrete slab w hitch is something like 200mm deep due to having steel in it an it being a suspended slab.

Our builder is suggesting using a 5mm insulation board from topps tiles. We are thinking 10mm warmup board but the cost difference is massive. We were hoping to only put the heating on for a couple of hours a day to take the chill off the room and heat it more only when being used.

Is the warmup board worth the extra cost for the benefits it delivers or would the 5mm premium underlay board be suffice?

Any comments much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Can't comment on the board but I can't think of a less efficient way of heating a room.... Just watch your electricity bill go through the roof
