Having had my DG installed by a company recommended to me, which I now regret, I have had to get them out to do various things over the last year.

Last week whilst on holiday they came again to look at why some windows were whistling, why some rooms were cold and replace some sealant. I had already pulled one of the plastic seals (internally) even further back than where it had come away, to check what was behind. To my surprise I could see the DG window frame and the walls of my house !

There was no foam or anything as far as I could see. Are they supposed to "foam up" internally as well as externally and how can I tell if they have. Also any tips on how to properly fix sealant, seals coming away and cold/draught problems would be gratefully appreciated.

to re stick your trims you need a decent quality low modulus neutral cure ,as the problem with your trims comming off is the assa tones in cheap nasty silicone cause the trims to de laminate usually about twelve months or so after fitting.

unfortunately the trims covering large gaps appears to be a standard practice among the industry personally more care removing the frames would eliviate this sometimes it does loose plaster which cant be helped ,but takes no time at all to repair if the right team is on the installation.

I speak from experiance having worked in this industry for 20 years or so untill expanding in to all building and maintenance services.NIce Suit now but still get my hands dirty now and again.
