I am looking into the possibility of fitting an integrated microwave into one of my wall units.

Looking for any info on the options for utilising the existing units and how best to go about it.

Wall units are 50cm & 30cm with a small spacer on the left side at 4cm.

Anything is possible but think you may struggle. How deep are they?

Most I have seen are designed to fit in 600mm wide units. The microwaved that can be used have a surround which increase the overall front dimension to fit a 600 mm unit .
But after a quick search found these.

They aren't all that heavy, compared to a conventional oven or even a kitchen shelf full of tins or china.

I have a combi in a 600 unit, IIRC it is made 550mm wide so it fits with a bit of space. There are instructions for ventilation but some have ventilation fans. The fitter added a batten to support the back of the shelf "just in case"

It is a wall unit, but extra deep. They call it a boiler cabinet and I have a matching one beside it to avoid a step. I wanted the biggest oven available.

You can get deeper ones, listed as "boiler cabinets", ready made self assembly, or better quality made to order. I think mine are 450 deep? Only just enough for the microwave. Not sure but less than the freezer.

In your position I think I would get or make a 600mm and a matching narrow one, perhaps a bottle storage if you can't get a matching door.

Or you could have a single 800mm unit with a cupboard space above the oven.

What has been done round my mums place is not exactly a 'built in' microwave in the true sense of the word but you could get a standard one that will fit in the 500 cupboard, fit a shelf above it and have the door cut down to have a small cupboard above.
