Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

Hi, guys.
Based on previous advice on here, i now have an Intergas Eco RF 24 and 200L Joule Cyclone UVC. They will be wired in an S-Plan plus configuration as per attached diagram.

My first question is whether i also need an external programmer/timer clock for the UVC?

Secondly, @Dan Robinson and @muggles said to set it up on HW priority; what does that mean exactly and how would it work assuming the UVC is running on an external timer?

Edit: Forgot to mention i will also use a Heatmiser UH8 wiring centre (if that makes a difference).

Hurrah, excellent choice. To make hot water priority work, you need a 3-port valve to divert between your cylinder and the heating system. This needs to be fitted with the A-port to the cylinder, and wired back to the boiler. Up to you whether you put a timer on the cylinder or not, if you don't it'll just heat when it's needed. Ideally you should also have the Intergas cylinder sensor fitted to the boiler.

Ah, ok, in that case i assume it won't work with the s plan plus wiring system with only two-port valves. Its the UFH people that specified the s plan system. I assume with my system i would just have to live without HW priority. Is that correct?

Well they're 2 ufh manifolds going on my system above. And I have it at home.

You need to employ an installer with a decent understanding of control theory rather than relying on pipe stranglers.

Yes, i agree. But, unfortunately, it's part of full house renovation and i cant stop my contractor from using pipe stranglers lol.

Of course you can.... More than a third of my turnover is doing exactly that.

The picture above is all the plumbing I did on the job. Someone else did the heating and bathroom plumbing. I liaised with the I other guy who ran the necessary pipes up to an agreed location.

As Dan says, there no reason whatsoever why it can't work with your system, you just need someone who understands wiring. It's actually quite simple

Yes, with hindsight, i should have not included it in the contract, but this project has been one painful learning experience where just about everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.

Would you guys mind telling me what should be added to my splan system to make HW priority work? As it stands i will have the heatmiser uh8 operating the 2x heating valves, manifold pump and 5 ufh zones. the dhw cylinder (2 port) valve will be operated by a separate relay. the relay is part of a wireless automation system that will act as the timer clock.

Is the cylinder 2 port a 5 or 6 wire one?

If 5, is it a honeywell?

If yes change the head, use the white wire to link to the heating grey wires instead of the regular permanent live.

It's a Corgi five wire. See pics attached. None of the valves have been wired up yet; electrician is coming on Monday for that.

Get them to change it for one with 6 wires.

Not too sure an electrician is the best person to do it mind.

What is the extra (white) wire for?
Also., from reading another thread on here, it looks likes it's not that easy to find 22mm two-port valves with six wires.

The contractor has already run past the contract finish date and will have a fit if i ask him to change the valve now, especially coz he's (finally) getting a proper electrician in on Monday to wire the system. Up to now he's been using the electrical equivalent of pipe stranglers!

I would agree with dan we have 60 sparks and would only trust a handful to wire up a system like that.

well WHEN the contract has ended just get dan to have a butchers
