Hi Guys,
I'm about to install my first ever door frame and could use some advice from those with experience.

I got the closest size frame to the stud width which I could. The wall isnt skimmed yet, but including plasterboard both sides it's 100mm. The frame is 130mm

My understanding is a skim coat is around 3mm, which will leave me with an overhang of 24mm on each side of the wall.

How is this handled? Should I cut the frame down by 4.8cm?

I guess there must be a common way of handling this.

Advice appreciated.

Linings are available at 95mm, 108mm, 120mm, 132mm, 145mm and a 200mm.
The smallest would be more suitable.
But as you have already purchased oversize you will need to rip it down to size .
