Internal door measurements - help!

I have been given some internal doors by a friend to replace the grubby ones I have. Issue is when i have measured them the existing ones are 760mm wide and the new ones are about 750mm. Is this within a tolerance that is ok or will they not fit correctly if I get someone out to hang them?

Also does anyone know how long it would usually take to hang a door assuming you know what you are doing - I have a builder who will do it but he only quotes by the day (not the job)...

A whole centimeter is much, that added to the current space you already have on the curren760 doors,

I don't think it will work, what you need to do is pack the door style out, with an additional 1cm, and then you also have to increase the doortrim with an addtional 1 cm or take the doorstops off and replace with new ones

You could add 9mm mdf to door lining assuming you have a painted finish, more work for the fitter adding to cost.

30" doors (762mm) are still widely available.

thanks, may look at getting 9mm added as it is a painted finish and this sounds better than new doors - the doors are worth about £140 each new so if i could get away with less than that to hang & add the 9mm then prob worth it.

If new doors hinges don't have same position as existing then put the mdf on the hinge side will cover existing slots and make fitting hinges easier.Also avoid putting any fixings in the hinge area to avoid damaging your chisel when cutting hinge rebates.
