Hi,
Looking for some advice.
In a new build house and looking to form doorway from hall into garage.
It is going through a load bearing timber frame wall (12.5mm gyproc/150mm insulation/9mm OSB/12.5mm gyproc).
As it is load bearing have to get building warrant.
Have sketched my own plan and addressed main things such as fire door, self-closing, step down of 100mm from hall to garage.
It is not a big project so not wanting to spend a fortune on planners/builders, etc
Main query is what detail will they expect to see on plan with regard to forming the new doorway.
Will they expect to see details of the new vertical studs and horizontal head piece (i.e. exact location/timebr size) ? or can I just show new door opening with note saying studwork to match existing ?
I was just going to get a reputable builder in to form the doorway once I get building warrant approved.
Another query - I think the doorway will go through middle of existing stud - will I have to go full height with the 2 new vertical studs or just to meet the new head piece which will be connected to remainder of existing stud ?
Any help greatly appreciated.
