Planning to buy some sliding door kits for internal doors (NOT pocket doors - just regular sliding). In people's views, is the soft close mechanism worth it, in general? Quite a bit costly on top.
Depends if you've got kids or other half that fail to do anything quietly..
Sliding doors in my house would be banging every 5 minutes, and the wood work would be taking a beating, the door would be damaged in no time and likely maybe even have bounced off it rails..
As above!
The soft close mechanism I fitted, really makes a difference.
It also adds to ease of use - you don't have to spend time closing the door properly, you just shove it!
All my kitchen cabinets and drawers have soft close, and it's something you quickly take for granted - that is until you visit somewhere else (parents house, holiday cottage etc.), and end up noisily slamming all their cupboards!
