Hi- I’ve recently moved into a new house and am figuring out what my predecessor has done with their electrics.
They’ve wired up the garage well, with a fuse box connecting eight wall sockets and the overhead strip light.
However they’ve disconnected the input source cable that supplied power to the garage and left it in the flowerbed!
The hole in the outside meter suggests it might not have been connected legally. I’d be interested to know what they were doing with their eight sockets in the garage…
In the garden they have fitted an IP65 which connects to an outside socket as well as a fish pond pump (the pond is soon to go but this outdoor socket might be useful). Yet the input into the outdoor IP65 comes from a simple wall plug inside the house, via a hole in the wall.
If I was to connect the source cable into this IP65, and restore power to the garage, would it be a smart move? Is there enough power coming from the one plug indoors to power the fusebox in the garage?
The photos are of the fusebox in the garage and the IP65 in the garden.
Thank you!
