I have an iron that I’ve owned for 2.5 years and it keeps tripping the RCD.
I’ve tried it in different sockets (on different RCD’s), same result.
It trips the RCD within a few seconds of being switched on. All other devices work fine in the same sockets.
I am inclination is to replace the iron but I had the same issue with the iron I replaced prior to this. It’s a “standard” iron on a lead with the steam function (when filled with water).
I do own a Megger MFT incase it has any application here and if it is a case of a duff iron, is there a different type of iron that is less prone to this issue?
Thanks in advance.
