Is 10mm microbore really suitable for a power shower?

I am about to undertake a complete bathroom refit and so have been scoping out what I have to work with. There is a power shower in my bathroom that was installed by the previous occupants and I am planning to rip it out and install a shower pump in the loft above.

Now, I noticed that the plumbing had been done by virtue of 10mm bore flexible pipe. Feels quite substantial, but I was thinking, surely that is making the pump work harder than it needs to. Should I pull it all out and replace it with copper or wider flexible pipe? I will be using either a 1.5 bar or 2 bar pump, probably around 18-20 litres/min.

By the way, I am not really expecting to use 18 litres/ min as that would drain my cylinder in about 4 minutes! But that is what the card for a similar pump read down at the local wholesalers.

I think 10mm is small. It will only make the pump work at higher pressure which surprisingly, is less work for it than working into lower pressure and shifting more water.

Well, I thought it was such an important point that it deserved an extra mention ;)
