Is a 'load compensating' thermostat worth while?

I'm in the final stages of changing over from an open vent system (ancient Ideal Mexico Slimline boiler) to a modern sealed system using a Worcester Greenstar 36CDi Compact combi.

I was originally intending on reusing the Honeywell CM927 programmable thermostat (the only modern bit of my old system) but was wondering if it would be worth getting a Worcester thermostat instead as I understand this would allow better control of the boiler rather than just on/off operation. Question is, does this make enough difference in practice to be worth spending £150+ on?
