Is configuring required on Bosch Dishwasher module?

I recently installed a new control module to my Bosch Dishwasher (SGS5362GB). Does it require to be specially configured? It came with no instructions and an appliance repair firm I contacted reckoned it requires configuring. When I start any of the cycles the module lights up, some water enters the machine, but that's all!
