When re-tiling a roof (that doesn't currently have tile vents fitted) is it best practice to install them? Not sure if relevant but the roof will have OSB board fitted throughout. The property's in Scotland.
I've chosen a roofer and noticed no mention of vents on the quote. Out of interest more than anything else I enquired if vents will be fitted and he advised 'Can do if you want, how many would you want installed?' Seemed like a slightly strange reply given I'm not qualified to advise if needed or quantity, not sure if I maybe p1ssed him off i.e. don't tell me my job kind of thing.
So, again out of interest more than anything else, is it best practice to fit tile vents or are they not required? The current tiles are the original ones (decades old) and there are no vents. I notice this when driving around i.e. many older roofs don't have them but quite a few newer ones do.
