Hi guys,
I have a 6' high, 2' diameter conifer in my garden which has suddenly developed random brown patches. They have appeared in the last 2 weeks or so, are quickly getting bigger and are even on some of the new foliage at the very top. About 1' around the very base has been drying up since last year, and has now all but died. If I part the foliage, the old growth at the centre of the tree is dry and dead.
I've looked online and many people describe exactly the same problem, but there are no solutions - only suggestions that it could be under-watered (not that), over-trimmed (nor that), or some sort of aphid (can't see anything).
Can't remember the name of it but it is quite a bright, yellowy-green colour with foliage that smells of lemon when touched.
Wish I had a working camera so I could post a pic or 2.
Does anyone here have any idea what is causing it and any relevant solutions? Hope so!
