Is it me or the laser level?

I've bought this laser level after having good reviews

As per instructions, i have put the level on a level surface (tested both ways)

The laser projection on the far wall (4m away) is not level in a horizontal plane.

Why could this be?

It is a self levelling laser with 4 degrees, however the angle is quite a way off;

Take it back. Presumably it has either been dropped or it wasn't right to start with, but TBH it is a bargain basement price item from a Far East source so it may be a case of you get what you pay for. I feel you might be better off spending a little more and going for a better known brand such as Stanley or Bosch green, if only because they can give after sales support.

As an indicator I regularly check my two lasers against a line on a wall which has been drawn on a wall using a 2 metre Stabila R-type laser level. All being well any discrepancy will be minimal (well under 1mm).

the wife brought a parkside one home from either aldi or lidl. it’s smack on and i use it for fitting kitchens and bathrooms , tiling etc.
think it was only about £40

I took it back to get a bosch quigo for £50 and it works absolutely fine now.
