Hi.

Could use some advice...

I have a fireplace with a marble hearth and back. The colour doesn't suit my decor. I could tile this area, but I am a bit skint at the moment. Is it possible to paint this marble surface in any way?

Would coating the surface in PVA help the paint adhere to this difficult surface?

Would I also need to treat the surface after I had painted it?

Regards

Steve

Never tried it, but doesn't sound a good idea. PVA won't do any good, as this is used to seal porous surfaces, I suspect the marble is polished. Don't think masonary paint will be any good either. The only thing I can think of is tile paint.

most people have little trouble in using normal paints to paint marble fireplaces, judging from the amount of times i have had to strip them off!
