Hi,
I am considering tiling my new extension along with the existing hallway, kitchen and dining room. The total area will be approx 56m2. The flooring in the new extension is block and beam but has 100mm insulation so I'm hoping will be fairly warm. The rest of the house is also block and beam but being built 20 years ago there is no insulation in the flooring and the floors are cold. Do you think it will be worth the extra cost and effort to lay 10mm insulation boards over all the flooring to try and improve the insulation. I am not having electric underfloor heating due to the expense.
My other option is to go for engineered wood flooring which I presume will give greater insulation but I'm concerened of the wearing having 2 kids and a dog.
