Hi all, need some help. I'm attempting my first plastering job where i've bricked up an internal doorway and chased out for some electrics.
I bought a bag of bonding just over a week ago and its been stored in the shed (which is insulated!!) off of the floor. I came to mix some up by hand today and it was quite grainy, so out came the paddle and drill and i get the same result (i'm adding plaster to water and not the other way 'round).
I'm assuming the bonding should be a very fine powder but it isn't. Is this now useless? Also, I used some on where I've chased out, do I need to re-do this??
Also one further question .... is it really essential to build up the bonding in layers of 8-10mm or can i slap it on in one go about an inch thick???
Thanks.
