Is plug hole on Kitchen floor an idea.

I am about to get my kitchen floor ripped up/replaced and wondering if getting a plug hole on the floor would be a way of insuring against future water accidents.

I assume it could be plumbed into the sink drain under the floor boards?

One thing is for sure, you won't flood your kitchen.
It might be more elegant to make sure your plumbing is done to spec.

You are missing the law of communicating vessels.

Go ahead and do it if you want to. Make sure the kitchen sink can't back up through it. You will need to flush some water through it regularly, to keep the trap sealed against the sewer.

When I worked in the Middle East, it was quite common for the bathroom and kitchen to have a drain built into the floor.... Very handy if you spilt liquids and for washing the tiled floor down but these drains were built into concrete floors not wooden ones

Wetrooms are normally for bathrooms. Just get yourself a good plumber (ie. none of the chancers on here )
