Can anyone advise me if there is any ASBESTOS in UK roof tiles? The only online references I can find is in corrugated cement roofing sheets.[Any Roofers know]. Thanks.
Not tiles, but some synthetic slates, yes, but not in the ones currently on sale.
Asbestos was finally removed from building products on the market in (I think) the 1990's. My house has synthetic slates (not tiles) which contain asbestos, but any new or replacement slates are asbestos-free.
Asbestos-cement is not considered especially hazardous, there used to be much more dangerous products used in shipbuilding and industrial heat protection.
