hi all i have a David wilson house, built 1997, builder found a brick to match the house but its a deeper red than what is on the house, ours is quite orangey, tried googling David Wilson orange brick but didn't give me any clues, bit of a guessing game really.

the closest i could find was these

That looks like a pretty good match, or at least it's probably from the right manufacturer.

They won't be David WIlson brand! They're the builder, they bought the bricks from a brick maker.

You could try contacting them though, there's a tiny chance they may have a record and might feel like helping you.

actually thats a good suggestion i will drop them email, the brick the builder has found just has alittle too much red rather than orange, with the extension on the side im worried it will really stand out as a add on

If you could remove one somewhere it may help, e.g. a garden wall, garage etc. They're unlikely to have a name on them these days, but the perforation pattern should be a good clue to someone in the know.

Alternatively you may be able to sneak a photo of the top of one in the loft or a garage.

builder is going to remove one from the chimney breast (which is coming down at some point) to see if we can get close to that. far too much choice online to try to match it but as Ivor windybottom said above ours have the black spots which might help if i search for that aswell to see what it throws up

Many builders merchants are good at matching bricks. There's an outfit called E H Smith who are oparticularly good.

The brick the guy is holding against the wall is far and away the best match: may just be dirt making the difference
