Is this a supporting wall do it neen a rsj.
the joist are running on top of this.
however one end of the top been that there is not join to anything

Is your aim to remove the timber partition?
The timber frame seems to have replaced the original brick wall that may have been supporting a first floor brick wall?
Go into a room directly above the frame, and remove a skirting from any wall thats directly above to check if there is any kind of lintel, and if the dividing wall between the bedrooms above is or was brick?
Be certain which way the joists are running above both front room and lounge?
