Is this too big of a gap tile backer board

Is this too large a gap at the top of tile backer board? The board is secured in place so can’t easily replace it so thinking I could fill it with silicone or put in a thin piece.

Adhere the tile on to the backer board up to the ceiling. That should take care of the gap.
