Painting my exterior windows again and have gave them a wipe down and used sandpaper to get a key for the fresh paint..
l used gloss before and using same paint again, the paint was fine and l just want to freshen the woodwork up so is undercoat needed again or will it be ok to put the gloss paint on...
Basically what l'm asking is do you need to use undercoat every time you freshen paintwork up or not, if you dont when do you need to use undercoat for woodwork..

Simple answer is yes, if you apply a new gloss paint over an old one the gloss is liable to craze, so prep and undercoat is really the way to go.

However there is an alternative, if your gloss is in good condition using a mild derergent and 400 grit wet sandpaper flat back the surface and when dry apply one coat of Crown Solo.

Seeing that you have already done the prep you can still use Solo brilliant product.
