A picture will follow in day or 2.

Well went to the job today intending to do 2nd fix prior to testing tomorrow.

Arrived a 10am very cold night, very cold morning, no heating in the house for months.

Anyway spotted all the tops, earth linked back boxes nice fresh blade into the knife (I know, electricians knife, but it is burried under a floor in Wakefield!)

Any way set off splicing the 2.5T&E, whoops, slight sting, "sh 1 te" blood bath!!!!

clamped the thumb in other hand off to the sink, wash in ICE COLD water

Quick suck!! No still running, make coffee and stare at it

Decide that it will probably need a trip to Otley General.

Kitchen towel and Red Insulation tape (xmas :) :) :)

Arrive bleed all over the general nice nurse cleans me up tells me this may hurt

Scream in pain for effect

I now have a thumb the size of a bratwurst, had to go back supposed to be finished tomorrow

No chance!!!

It would appear that I am short now of half a thumb nail front to back and half the skin on the inside of the thumb.

A word of caution, there are correct tools for the job, use them oh and a few strokes of the length in the morning does no harm ;)

I'm always in MIU at Otley.

The staff are always really helpful and do a good job.

Must be due something soon. It's been a few months since my last visit.

Anyone want to see what I did?

Whilst rolling a drum of 4mm SWA down 5 or 6 steps I felt a sharp pain and was dragged down the steps with the drum.
I got hooked on a nail which had been used to secure the end of the SWA in place.
How it didn't rip my hand to shreds I don't know but it did cause a bit of internal damage.

A few days later when the swelling started to go down.

You lot are dreadful!

Don't you ever wear gloves??

If I cut myself, my boss would ask to see the bloody glove.

No glove = disciplinary....

PPE should be used at all times. It's your body after all guys! If you mutilate it, you have to take time off earning spondoolies.

Brother just been on the phone and has promised to re-patriate kevlar gloves from British Gypsum to me.

Apparently no bugger wears them there!!!
