I would be more than delighted if anyone had a top tip to remove 'shop bought' Italian tomato sauce from white cotton. I have splashed a white cotton with it and have put it on the cooker in a pan to boil but still the splashes remain and its a fav white shirt. Any ideas? Much appreciated. Thank you.

 usually its best to soak stains in cold water, and maybe a little bio powder.

Boiling or even a hot wash will set most stains permanent.

Ooops! Been in hot water already. I wonder whether there's a Stain Devil that will help. Many thanks for your reply, very kind of you.

Most people use a washing machine and washing powder. I don't think it makes a difference whether it's Italian tomatoes or some other country's tomatoes.

Thank you for your smart alec comment, most appreciated. If a washing machine and washing powder were enough do you think I would waste my time writing on this thing for some smart remark from someone like you. You're even hinting at tomato country rascism which is laughable and pathetic. To inform of the country was to show the type of sauce which if you knew about it saying Italian definitely means a specific type of sauce. So thank you for your comments. please do bother anyone else with such help.

I have now got the very hard to remove stain out. Thank you.

Iso-propyl alcohol may soften the stain enough to remove it. Dampen the stain with the alcohol (note it is HIGHLY inflammable and easily ignited) and then wash in cold water with washing up liquid or hand soap before all the alcohol evaporates.

White wine ( strong cheap brand ) may work to soften the stain but test on an area where a new stain wouldn't be noticed in case the wine leaves a stain.
