had the supply company send out there bloke to remove my old off peak meter yesterday. Got chatting and mentioned about fitting main isolators on the incoming supply. Anyway, 2 cups of tea and a rich tea later there was a nice new isolator fitted, and all the incoming cables had been upgraded to 25mm. very happy with that!!!

any one else had work done for the price of a cup of tea??

cheers

Living in a caravan and getting electrics in while self building.

Chap arrived with the 60 yards of concentric cable to go from pole in road to the temporary meter location. But he couldn't connect us as his mate was off sick.

But as we had the duct and draw cord in place he offered to help pull in the cable. A cup of tea made using a portable camping gaz stove and a couple of choccy biscuits and he offered to connect us up as long as I stood as safety at the bottom of the ladder for him.

But before you nip out and stock up on choccy biscuits this was back in the 1980's when Mr Jobs-Worth was less active.

PME conversion, main isolator, new 25mm2 tails (plus about 8 metres extra out the van) and a couple of spare service fuses.

In exchange for...
