itunes - vista

Would someone please tell me why I can't get itunes to run on my lap top that is running vista?

such a pain in the a*se!!!

i have downloaded the latest software the one for 'vista' but when i try to run itunes i get a message saying 'itunes has stopped working??

Have you tried running it in compatability mode for windows XP?

sorry i'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to computers.

I don't personally use iTunes, but I have read that it relies on quicktime. Try installing the latest version of quick time. you can download it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ I have seen forum entries where this has fixed the problem you mention.

Have you tried to uninstall all Apple software iTunes, quicktime etc and re-install from scratch? Was this an upgrade from XP to Vista and Upgrading iTunes?

Try installing vlc media player its free, seems to play everything.

Yes I have uninstalled both several times to no avail.

Lap top in new and came with vista on it.

Does VIC work with ipods?

Its VLC, I dont know if it works on ipods.
