A blessed release for her.

My condolences to her family.

I wish her boys the very best.

Anyone want to take bets on when Tweedledum is front page news in the Sun or NOW for doing something dodgy? I reckon within the week.

I think Brazier is a plank as well, but I'm sure he will look after the kids. They really are going to have a tough time over the coming months

To be robbed of life at that age is very tragic. :(

I hope her chap looks after her boys.

Come on, is this really headline news? I mean do we all need to know about it? If it weren't for big brother, nobody would know about this, and newspapers would be reporting NEWS. People talk about her like she's some kind of god. Why?

Agreed.

I feel more for people I personally know. I have a very close relative going through chemo now, I know there are thousands of others doing the same, but I do not know them personally, so.................

With all this outpouring of emotion- we should all mourn everybody?

I did not say she was some kind of god, nor am I blinded by media hype.

Let me give you a perfect example, Steve.

We have read about Jade in the press and have seen her on TV.

We have read other people's opinions of her and things that she has written herself.

We only "know" her through the things we have seen and read about her.

Now compare that with DIYnot: all of us here are using the forum, a kind of media.

We claim to know each other, but all we "know" is from what is written by each of us on this forum. We agree and disagree with and form opinions of, each of the people here based on what we read here.

Would you agree that we only know each other as well as we know a celebrity like Jade?

Now, if I (or any other forum member) were to die tomorrow, would you write something like that or would you be more sympathetic?

Look, put simply of course it is tragic. Did I like her, or was I in the slightest bit interested in her? No. Did she represent a lot of what is wrong with the country ? Yes. Was she a human being who did not deserve this, yes (but then no one does) Do other people go through this, yes.

She and every one else who goes through this has my up most sympathy.

It is easy to call her thick, but by the end, she'd mangaged to earn more than most will in their life, by honest means too.

My prayers go to her family, especially her sons.

Let's hope the twonk tweed will come good, unlikely I'd say.

All I ever see on this forum is soul-less selfish remarks given out to people that have not wronged them personally.

She is lower working class (guilty)
She spoke with an annoying accent (guilty)
She had more money than you and me (guilty)
She did not have political correctness (guilty)
She inflicted any harm on YOU (not guilty)
She loved her children and looked after them (guilty)
She bad mouthed you personally (not guilty)

When someone you know very dearly gets terminal cancer, YOU will feel like you and them are the most important thing in the World!

Don't speak wrong of the dead.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said he was "deeply saddened" by the news and described Goody as "a courageous woman both in life and death".

That's odd - he was calling her Jane Goody a couple of weeks back.

As much as people didnt like her and the publicity around her cancer battle, she was only doing it for her kids so they have a good life. Very noble of her. RIP.

Put it this way then.

Compare the media hype surrounding the deaths of these two women:

Diana, Princess of Wales
Jade Goody

Which had the more meaningful and accomplished life?

With this you can see where society is going wrong. Very very wrong.

No one has defended the media hype. However at the end of the day, in both cases children have been deprived of their mother. That is not a good thing.

Should be focused on every mother around the world that is dying from cancer and is leaving cancer behind, not just Jade Goody.

Not everyone else's children have the luxury of having a well off mum to get their start in life from her money. Or the copious amounts of suport her children will get because Jade was well known throughout the media.
