These are generally very reliable boilers.

I was called to one about 9 months ago with a failed ( overheated ) fan motor.

I replaced the fan and the replacement has burnt out again. Its a standard Italian Fime motor with a diecast body as used in many boiler models and usually very reliable. I only change about 2-3 a year across all the models, mostly bearing failure.

Since I am potentially called to a few of these boilers thats the only fan failure I have seen on this make and I would ask why should the fan fail twice on the same boiler? Everything looks fine but the failure is an overheated and burnt out motor winding!

Any ideas or experiences?

check the obvious-burner pressure, gas rate, correct size flue restrictor fitted, condition of flue, etc.

They are all correct although those problems usually result in overheated and seized bearings.

This is a case of a seriously overheated motor windings which is very unusual indeed. I dont remember even seeing it before on any boiler.
