Hi, just a quickie please……

After a copper pipe leak nightmare, I’m finally resorting to 15mm JG plastic pipe instead

JG recommend clips every 300mm on horizontal runs. Is this overkill or about right ?

Cheers :)

We use polypipe (don't like speedfit tube) polypipe states 300mm clip distance on 15mm if horizontal 500mm if vertical. But you can space further apart if pipework is concealed and sagging is not excessive.

Thanks for the info (y) :)

I was told JG was the best, and that’s what I was after to hopefully stop another leak. Always appreciate good advice though, cheers (y);)

Hep2O is another brand -- they recommend 300mm on exposed pipework for the appearance rather than absolute necessity... that depends on other factors (excessive sagging, potential air locks etc.,.) in the "design".

If this is for your https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/leaks-in-copper-pipe….630725/ across the sub-floor install then you may not need them at all, could use cable ties or another method to keep them in place along with the pipe insulation you're fitting? Though previously coiled plastic pipe has a tendency to not want to lay flat and straight on its own ;) .

Thanks for that mate (y)

Unfortunately…..I’ve spent the day hammering 2x2 in all the way along the channel in the concrete and put pipe clips in at 300mm…..what a pain in the @ss

Can anyone reassure me that standard Talon hinged pipe clips are ok on 15mm JG please ??
