JG Speedfit Tap Connectors

I notice that JG make tap connectors in both plastic and brass versions:

What's the benefit of each? Obviously brass is stronger than plastic but what's the benefit of having a stronger tap connector if everything downstream is plastic anyway?

the all plastic ones can be tightened hand tight by Men - the one with the loose brass hex nut is for nancy Gas Safe boiler twiddlers
