I'll reply joinerjim . . yes tis a sad day The 70s were just incredible and the greater the stack of Marshall amps the better.
Still he had a good innings and gave a lot of people a hell of a lot of pleasure.

Had a Marshall amp and speaker back in the early eighties . fantastic sound. Don't think I ever got the volume over half way.

Yep, the best ever amp for distortion at full volume was undoubtedly the Vox AC 30 amp. Used by many famous musicians.
