Hi guys. Put in 1st floor floor joist in extension and all levelled to main house floor level. Joist hangers to new external wall and joist pockets other end. Total inside span of 2.63m. Have to triple up 2 and double up 1. Bought the coach bolts, timber connectors and square washers. Can someone explain the exact spacing. I believe the best way is to stagger them top and bottom. Using 150mm×50mm joist.
Many thanks
Mark

Was thinking 100mm in from either end on top at 600mm centres 30mm from top. But if Staggered at bottom 30mm from bottom of joist.
That gives me nine bolts in each.
Does that sound ok?

If its a structural beam then whoever designed it should be specifying the bolts and spacing.

Otherwise it makes no difference if they are staggered or on the central axis.

Ok thanks. It's only under partition walls. Not load bearing. So on the central axis is fine...what spacing mate?

Thanks ^woody^.
Got to nip to toolstation later. Going to pick up straps for wall plate. 1200mm is right lenght isn't it..maximum 2m centres. Screwed at top and a brown plug and screw in each block yeah
