Hi all,
just a note to say thank you to all contributors to this forum.
I've no money at the moment to call out a professional and found this forum when searching for info.
My central heating is almost as old as the house and the wiring is old style colouring and goes who knows where. So when it went pop last week and I ended up with hot water but no heating, I spent four "cold" nights trawling this forum.
I've not had to ask a single question (...yet - touch wood) but you guys have helped me do some methodical investigation and, with the purchase of a PG10B Digital MultiMeter (£19.99), a new programmer and some more testing, my radiators are hot, my piled up washing is now drying and I'm now defrosting.
Thank you all for your expert input - it is very much appreciated.
