Some very good points lately in this thread with which I completely agree.

Unfortunately, I cannot see a solution... with one possible exception: as we import more and more people, and as more and more people claim benefits and fewer and fewer people actually work and contribute to the economy, the country will eventually be unable to support its population.

We shall then become a 'third world' country and the more enterprising of us (not me, I shall be long gone by then!) will be making a journey to some other altruistic country claiming to want to 'feed the world'. India or China perhaps?

I’m old enough to remember in the 70’s when the only shop open on a Sunday was the Pakistani, (P.aki), corner shop and people were glad of their hard work and long hours. You may hate Sundays now, as I do, that we no longer have a peaceful Sunday, (separate topic), but ‘we’ were glad of them and thanked them in return by calling them names and generally being obnoxious and racist.

It’s this British Empire mentality which is coming back to bite us. Well, just one of very many things...

It's the market forces and Capitalism at work. I didn’t create the situation, it’s most likely English white rich scum and magnates living in their ivory towers who did; with a little help from working class, work-shy, parasites.

Besides, purely as a personal observation, the only knocked-up single mothers I see, (with their latest smart phone & fags sporting a £400 buggy living off The State at our expense), are white English trash. Is this the “family” you speak of? If so, good riddens to that ‘family’ as well. I’m happy to see them displaced. (There, I said it )

I would not have a problem with thousands of EE's pouring into this country with millions of Euro's buying retirement properties as our O.A.P.'s do in Spain, open the doors and let them in.....

At the same time let their doctors and surgeons flood our hospitals...

Not too many porkkis in the 70s--that was until IDI chucked out the ugandian asians of course.
Have to say though those Ugandan asians work hard and always have done . They were a blessing to us . Where else could we get a few 4 packs on a sunday night ?.

All fine and dandy, until the greasy Spaniards decided to grab a lot of the built up land back (supposedly to build affordable, social housing for Spanish people), then built luxury villas (which the Spanish still couldn't afford) . Then to add insult to injury, charged the Brit's for the cost of putting in service roads and lighting. Did the EU help those Brits??? Short answer NO.

Spain is foo kered. They deserve to be too.
Italy has finally got what it deserves - but -in real Italian tradition-- they will take the side of anyone who is doing ok /winning.
All greaseballs- slide around until they land on a 'not so slippery' slope .

However- they are pussycats compared to the E Europeans --thats a fact.
My advice to us natural Brits--is to fill our boots whilst we can--(time is short) and salt away our assets --otherwise those romanian didikies will take them away from us if we so much as blink.

I don’t know what you do for a living or your qualifications to make such a sweeping generalisation on this matter, but I have been working in the NHS in Rehab for the past 15 years and can tell you, from first hand experience, we would be on our knees without them! If there was a ‘No thanks’ icon for a very unhelpful and wrong post I would use one on yours.

I have lost count of the number of clinicians, O.T’s, doctors, carers etc. that have past through our Department on rotation for whom I have the utmost admiration and respect. They have all been good, intelligent, highly qualified, hard-working, kind, compassionate, helpful...

I may not agree with or understand their religion/s, (any more than our Christian one ), but I cannot fault their dedication to duty.

Maybe you just have a short or bad memory
