Hi

My mother just had the front of her house done with krend butter milk silicone rough texture. They have left half a bag of the original render

Now, the guy has rubbed up the finish at the end and in one spot has gone too far. A patch about the size of a golf ball he has gone a little far and you can see the grey base showing through. Within that little patch 2 area the size of a 1p piece has gone through to the base coat

Now he says he would have to strip the whole lot off to repair it or he will knock of a few bob in compensation.

So, what are the true options?

First, is exposure of the base going to come back and bite us on the ass when water and frost start doing their thing?

Given we have some of the original render can we do a fix? How would we do it?

Last, I hear they do some repair paint. Is that an option too?

Any advice appreciated, thanks in advance

A patch will always be a patch!
Dont know about the repair paint but dont try and daub over it.
If it is that noticeable its in his remit to rectify to your satisfaction.

Agree with Alastair 100%,, it's more or less impossible to patch up a rough texture without it being noticeable. One thing NOT TO DO, is to try and repair it yourself, definetely a no no. If you try it and make it even worse, you have NO comeback with the contractor who did the work. Best thing to do, tell him you're not happy, and either accept a few bob knocked off the job, or get the whole thing done again. If it was me, i'd want the job done properly, rather than money off,, you have to live with it.
