Yes it should, but if you have a bad valve in the pump it might be hard to get working. Bleed well by running without the lance, until all air bubbles are cleared. If you leave it stopped for any length of time, you may have to re-bleed. But well worth a try, some use a filter on the end of the pipe to ensure no dirt gets into the pump. Water tends to be dirtier than it looks.
I ran my newish one from a bucket of water on the kids climbing frame (about 5' high). Once bled, it worked fine for blasting the bird poo off the slide!
Thanks, was just about to post my result today ! Connected to my garden water butt, it worked a treat, there is a filter in the input connection to sort the goo out, keep the water meter bills down !!
