keeping pigeons off of roof

I have an aluminium flat roof that is 8' wide by 45' feet long that I wish to keep pigeons away or off of the roof
Any idears please?

I paid for the neighbour to have solar cells fitted to his roof and this keeps the pigeons off mine.

Solar panels are pigeon magnets. And those places are good earners for the gutter cleaning firms.

The 'hawk' kites do seem to work.
Seen them used locally where there is a bit of a pigeon issue, but they need putting up well, as if they blow off, the sky rats will return.

The only method i know to be effective are pigeon spikes. Putting them on a metal roof will be challenging, though.
